The Vision

We believe we have been called to create a place for our community to come and see how a church has sacrificed for them in order to bring the Kingdom on Earth as it is in heaven.

One of the greatest blessings we received was the invitation in 2014 to merge with a one-hundred-year-old church in our community, Fairview Street Baptist.

This merger has been a true God story in propelling the mission of Capstone forward and the benefits we were blessed to receive.  It was also a new start for a 100-year-old church who had the courage to pass the baton on to the next generation of Christ followers in Fountain Inn.  The Fairview Street family is excited to see life again in their church and seeing the younger generation passionate about serving the Lord, leading Christ-centered homes and a place they can see God moving in mighty ways.

We often describe the merger of Capstone Church and Fairview Street as two families coming together under one roof.  Capstone went from having limited resources to a fully paid for facility, sitting on 5 acres in the heart of Fountain Inn.  Since the merger, Capstone has seen 36% increase in attendance and a surge in our influence to help be that catalyst for Christ-centered transformation in our community we felt called to eight years ago.

It has been a blessing these past eight years to see lives transformed through the ministry of Capstone Church.  Whether it has been the 100 individuals who have made outward expressions of inward decisions through baptism, to the thousands from our community who crossed racial and socioeconomic barriers to spend afternoons watching plastic eggs fall from the sky over the years at the Fountain Inn Community Egg Drop, lives have been forever changed by Capstone.

Every week we have children hearing the message of Jesus Christ sown into their hearts praying that it will take root and bear the fruit of salvation.  Every week we have hundreds fellowshipping through prayer, song, scripture and community.  Every week Capstone is a place where the Gospel is put on display so that we can tell people that his Glory is greater than our story.  Capstone’s desire has always been to not just get people to church but get them to Jesus.

We don’t believe Capstone has been blessed these past eight years to sit and say that we have made it as a church.  Just because we have been given a building and people come every week, doesn’t mean that we can take our foot off the gas, but push even greater in our investment in the Kingdom with what has been given to us.

The merger of Capstone and Fairview Street has allowed us be placed in the center of Fountain Inn with a great opportunity to be a beacon of hope to many.  Through the generosity of Fairview Street, Capstone was allowed to move into a debt free facility and begin to use it for ministry within weeks of the merger. This generosity has permitted us to continue be radically generous in serving others and putting the Gospel on Display.

The ultimate vision we have is transforming 601 Fairview Street into a Community Center that a church meets at.  We believe we have been called to create a place for our community to come and see how a church has sacrificed for them in order to bring the Kingdom on Earth as it is in heaven.  Our desire is to help meet recreational needs, educational needs, family strengthening needs, foster care system needs and others needs that come to our attention for the welfare of the city.
